| There is a rapid expansion of GM products in the world since biotechnology applied to agriculture. The United States as a major power of GM production and consumption, whose public attitudes towards GM is one of the important bases for marketing, technology promotion and government decision-making. Based on numerous surveys in America, three types of findings are summarized, and the reasons for diverse conclusions have been explored. Support, oppose and uncertain represent three types of survey findings separately. American people’s attitude to GMOs is not clear for lack of knowledge and information, and changed so easily because of various factors affecting. Financed by various social forces, the purposes of surveys are significantly different. Survey techniques and interpretation strategies are selected by investigators, and affected the results finally. |
