| The Chinese prominent community research is carrying out“through small place discern big society” approach, using “community” as specific carrier to discern the “society” or the “country”, and in hopes of understanding “intangible China” from “tangible village”. Studying community, transcending community, the community research approach of transition from “tangible ” to “intangible” is not only come from the inward heritage dynamic of academic field，but also on account of Chinese scholars’ academic responsibility and patriotism. Chinese community research attempt to understand the whole “intangible China” proceed from the exterior to the interior and from the part to the whole through three gradual procedures. By review the history of Chinese community research, the article try to answer how does the academic pursuit of community research transition from tangible community to intangible country become possible, and why scholars now claim that could be achieved. Furthermore, consider whether the transition from “tangible” to “intangible” is the foreordination of scholar or the inner clarity of science. |
