| 垛田是江苏中部里下河腹地的兴化地区一种特有的农业文化遗产。它是由当地先民在湖
荡沼泽地带开挖河泥堆积而成,状如小岛,物产丰饶,景色旖旎。垛田是在当地生态环境剧烈变化下,为
适应防治洪涝以及人口快速增长而创制,至今已有600 年左右的历史。近年来,由于受到现代化与城市
化等的影响,垛田在地形地貌、传统技术与文化传承等方面都受到较大威胁,甚至有濒临消亡的危险。
要保护和传承好垛田必须深刻认识其价值,在此基础上积极组织申报世界重要农业文化遗产,打造开发
生态旅游,并且做到合理规划,密切监测,才能走出一条保护与开发并重的和谐发展之路,并传诸后世。

| Raised fields is a unique precious agricultural cultural heritage in XingHua region, located in the hinterland of
LiXia River of the middle of JiangSu Province. Raised fields are artificial platforms of soil built by local ancients through
excavating canals in the marshlands, such as island, which are highly productive and charming scenery. Raised fields were
created to protect crops from flooding, adapted to rapid population growth under the circumstances of violent changed ecological environment, nearly 600 years ago. Due to the influence of the modernization and urbanization, today's raised fields
are threatened by the topography and traditional technology and culture inheritance, so its value must be profoundly realized
to protect and inherit. And based on this, we should actively apply the project of the world important agricultural cultural
heritage, develop ecological tourism with reasonable planning and closely monitoring, in order to establish a method of protection and development, where raised fields will be carried forward and transmitted to future. |
