| Taiwan is a multi-ethnic harmonious cultivating so ciety for hundreds of y ears , and g radually forming a national
life community with regional family as the co re.Throug h the discussio n on the family histo ry , the author believes those
histo rical facts, ancestors nego tiated v arious impediments? and strived fo r self-improvement , play an impo rtant role in
helping posterity ? to co ntinue moving forw ard.Ov er years, the autho r focuses on g enealo gy compilation of Lai family
f rom the mainland of China and Taiwan and increasing ly feels the impor tance of doing the family sy stem research.` To respect
the virtuous scholar and ancestor and to fraternize the family and clan' has alway s been the traditional virtues of the
Chinese na tio n.Tracing the source , Lai family initially used ` Lai' as the family name and `Yingchuan' as the church
name.Years later , Lai family also had ` So ngy ang' , `Xichuan' , ` Jishan' for their church name for reaso ns.Since
Zhongchen Herr immig rated to Ningdu County (Jiang xi province)1700 years ag o , Hakka ? and Lai family in south Fujian
g radually developed .This paper mainly explores the orig in , migration and develo pment of Ji family and Lai family .In addition
to the introductio n and conclusio n sections, the who le article can be divided into 4 parts, which are the origin of
surname , migration of the family , taken root in Taiwan and moved to Pingdong County respectively .The significance of
the article on the o ne hand is hig hlighting the historical process o f Lai families' development , o n the o ther hand is advocating
the clan development research , w hich means a lo t to pass the spirit of the Chinese nation and become part of the
Taiwanese' s main conscious characters.The Chinese nation is composed of a combinatio n made up of many different families
.`Keeping filial piety-oriented , so that the family can be harmo nious;reverence for ancestors, so that the posterities'
lifetime benefit' , these principles hav e spread for thousands o f years.Thoug h the family and clan in Taiw an, people could
g et a clear understanding of the overall situation of Taiwan compatriots' mig ration and development , w hich have a significant
