在田野调查和文献资料的基础上,文章追踪研究了南景这个因杨庆先生的著作而在海外中国研究中颇具影响的学术名村,描述了它五十年后经济生活的基本形貌。从城郊聚落到都市村庄的南景,失去了昔日固守的田园,土地和房屋的出租成了村社、宗族和家庭经济的生存之本。其变迁轨迹不仅是珠江三角洲地区乡村都市化的代表,也承载了传统农民终结的历程。

英文摘要:

Based on fieldw ork a nd literature, this thesis is a trace study o n th e Villag e of Nanching ( litera lly , the Scene of So uth) , a village that w as made academically w ell-known to over seas researchers on China by C. K. Yang 's monog raph. After half a centur y, Na nching, which used to be a typica l subur ban villag e, has now been turned into a v illag e within the boundary o f a metropolis, representing a specia l case of what ma y be termed metro politan v illage. During the co urse o f this, th e villag e has lost its fields, and depended o n r ental o f ho uses. Although it does no t cov er all the ty pes o f rural societies, th e case of Nanching is basically r epresentativ e o f the process o f urbaniza tion of the Pea rl Riv er Delta regio n, by the same to ken, may w ell serv e as a model o f the terminatio n of traditional peasants.
